Teen acne problems have been a major skin problem among children now-a-days. When we think of teens, we think of acne. The causes of acne can be related to being a teenager, such as raging hormones and puberty. However, some causes are related to gender, genetics, and skin type.

1. Washing your face 2 or three times a day helps control oil that can cause acne. Soap containing salicylic acid controls acne by exfoliating the top skin layer. Though precautionary measurements can’t prevent teen acne problems completely, it can make a real difference in the number of children suffering from this skin problem.

2. Knowing what can cause teen acne problems to occur and what can be done to prevent them will help a lot. To put in a more understandable form, teen acne problems are a special condition of skin which leads to the appearance of scars which we often call as pimples or spots. An ideal level that must be maintained for acne problems can be adjusted but when it appears in a more severe form, it really makes problems.

3. In some more severe cases of acne, antibiotics and photo therapy may be needed. Blocked pores are a perfect place for bacteria to grow. This causes pain inflammation and infection. Antibiotic treatment is needed to treat the bacteria. Photo therapy has been  shown to also kill bacteria is shorter amount of time than antibiotics. In many instances,  the antibiotics and photo therapy are used concurrently.

4. A number of other causes include the unexpected factors such as Genetic heredity. If the parents or grandparents were having any such problems, the children are also having the chance to become a victim of teen acne. However, it can be controlled only when the modern medical practices are able to make changes in the genetic code of the going-to-be-born child.

5. The best treatment for pimple spots is a benzoyl peroxide cream. While salicylic acid exfoliates the skin, benzoyl peroxide kills the bacteria that rises up from the blocked pores. This cream can be very drying to the skin, so it is not recommended to be used all over the face every day.

6. There are other ways to prevent and treat acne besides just creams and soaps. There are also some more natural ways. Vitamins, such as vitamin A and B have been shown to prevent or slow down acne breakouts. Zinc is a mineral that has also been shown to do the same. These recommendations need to be followed by a doctor to prevent accidently overdosing.
